You want me to write WHAT?

HboBig_LogoNo, seriously...I had a great weekend and I just didn't feel like writing anything.  It would be disingenuous to call it writer's block.  I just don't have anything of import to say today.

Come back tomorrow...

Tonight, I am catching up on HBO's "Hard Knocks," the excellent documentary series that focuses on an NFL team at training camp.  This season follows the New York Jets.  Much has been made of coach Rex Ryan's salty language, but I haven't heard anything that I wouldn't expect from men in combat.  There's a sample on the far side of the break.

Some notes to carry you through to the weekend.

nook1It seems that people who own an e-reader of some sort read more books.  My own (decidedly non-scientific) data indicate this to be correct.  Since the purchase of my Barnes and Noble nook, I've gone from reading one or two a year to a half dozen in the past month.

android_logoUntil very recently, asking my preference in cell phones was to invite an impassioned and quite unnecessary speech about the joys of owning a Blackberry.  People at work back away when someone who hasn't been warned  asks me what I think a piece of tech.  There's even a previous posting on this very site that drones on about some new BlackBerry model that I'd hoped to strap to my loins like the sword of the righteous.

But, of late I've been seeing another phone behind my BlackBerry's back.  It's a seductive little bitch with a bright color screen and the ability to surf the web in a way my Tour 9630 could never manage.  And this is no iPhone, with its antenna fouled by my death grip or its heart strings pulled by Steve Jobs from afar.  No folks, I'm thinking about going Android.
