Welcome to ronchatman.com!

clouds1Thanks for visiting ronchatman.com and spending a little time in my head and my life.  Some folks use their site because they are passionate about a pressing social or personal issue.  Personal websites and blogs provide dispatches from the war against injustice, give brutal insight into personal battles against conditions like breast cancer, HIV and autism.  While I salute and support all of those points of view, this website is much less urgent.

The web is also the place where a lot of people with insight and expertise flaunt their mastery of a host of technical issues.  When seeking an answer for configuring a web server, adjusting a carburetor or preparing a steak sous vide, there is a website or two (or hundreds) that will light your path.  You might need a little review on the best way to mount a search through Google, Yahoo or Bing, but you'll find the help you seek on just about any topic.

Mash_signThere's a lot of branding that happens on the web, with plenty of companies, products and people finding and serving their constituencies in a manner that was not possible a decade ago.  I figured some manner of sea change was afoot when I got a Facebook friend request from someone running for the bench in my hometown.  Seems this internet thing isn't going away any time soon.

And quite apart from the content and social aspects of a modern connected life, there's the issue of the hardware and gadgets that we love.  Whether you lean towards the Android or Blackberry camps or feel that iPads and iPhones might be more your style, people need someone to occupy the bleeding edge and lead the way through the tech jungle.

If you every watched the movie or TV show M*A*S*H, you may remember the signpost at the crossroads in the camp.  It pointed the direction and distance to any number of places that people would want to visit.  I view this website as serving the same function as that sign...pointing the way along the "intertubes" to the place you wish to reach.

Let me help you extend your brand, find a website host, figure out how to manage your social networks and maybe even figure out what device will help you cross the digital divide while we're at it.  Or just stop in from time to time and have a laugh on me.  You can leave a comment, follow a link or play along on the home version of our game.  And thanks for coming.
